There is a ton of stuff to do in Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland! Here are some of our favorite sites. Smithsonian Museums: Art, History, Science, Aviation. You name it, the Smithsonian has it. The best part, admission is FREE.
Some of our favorite Smithsonian museums: Udvar Hazy National Air and Space Museum: a giant museum housing hundreds of airplanes and spaceships! Come see the space shuttle, Enola Gay, Concord, SR71A Blackbird and much, much more. The National Zoo: Home to more than 2000 animals, including the giant pandas. Whether you like to look at giraffes or reptiles, the zoo is a place to go wild!
National Museum of American History: The exhibit halls are endless and include just about everything related to American History. Exhibits include, Americans at War, Abraham Lincoln and Science in American Life. The gowns of the First Ladies, Dorothy’s Ruby slippers, the Star Spangled Banner, Julia Child’s Kitchen, you’ll find them all here. National Mall and Memorial Parks: If museums aren’t your cup of tea, you can always walk the mall and see the monuments.
