Another video I took in Key Largo. The hogfish, Lachnolaimus maximus, is prized for its excellent meat – firm, flaky, and delicious. It is able to change its color from almost all white to a pinkish-red depending on the location. It is a member of the wrasse family and is difficult to catch on a hook and line. I have taken many while spearfishing and this large one was very approachable as it was in a marine reserve. Hope you enjoy it.
