Dan and Nick ride the Colorado Trail Race

My good friends, Dan Joseph and Nick Thelen, have been racing in the Colorado Trail Mountain Bike Race. You can follow Dan’s real-time position or Nick’s position from their Spot GPS satellite transcievers. This is a very hard 500 mile self-supported mountain bike race.

Sunrise in the Florida Keys
We left Marathon at about 7:00am on Saturday morning. We took the ICW through the Keys up to Government Cut, the inlet for Miami, where we entered the ocean and headed up to Jupiter. The trip was much shorter going this way and took us about 11 hours. We arrived in Jupiter at around 6:00pm. We were tired and salty but we had a great time. Thanks Mike.
Speedboat
Sunday, August 9th, 2009I have spent a lot of time on the water and I have never seen a boat move this fast. It went from horizon to horizon in about a minute. Its roostertail was huge and the sound of its engines was deafening. The boat cut through our wake like it wasn’t there and left very little wake of its own. An amazing sight. Great White Heron
This morning we saw a Great White Heron eat a fairly large fish. He speared the fish with his beak and after a few minutes he tossed it in the air and swallowed it whole. Click the link to learn more about the Great White Heron.
